11-15 years: teens who sleep less eat more but

According to a survey whose results were announced yesterday, adolescents 11 to 15 years sleep less but they should eat better. Remains the problem of drugs, tobacco and alcohol remains a concern. Conducted every four years, the questionnaire of the National Institute of Prevention Health Education (INPES) is to make its findings for the study conducted in 2010 among 11,638 college French. As stated François Beck, head of investigations, if areas of concern such as the discovery of alcohol, tobacco and cannabis remain at the college, "the overall picture is positive." On the one hand, fruits and vegetables are consumed in larger quantities than in previous years. Thus, 45% of students say they eat vegetables at least once a day, against 42% in 2006 and the proportion of fruits consumed from 31% to 39%. France ranks therefore the leaders of the 40 countries studied (mainly in Europe plus the United States and Canada). On the other hand, sweets, them, see their consumption from 28% to 24%, even if the soda remains stable. However, adolescents are only 58% eat breakfast every day, a score "relatively low" which could be explained by the "morning hours" of the school and the "stress" school.
However, the survey also shows that young French people are now also addicted to internet and mobile phone than their counterparts in Europe. Thus, 15 years, 68% of girls and 50% boys use them daily. According to college students surveyed, these new technologies enrich life friendly. It is considered more diverse than in 2006 with 93% of them say they have at least three or more true friends. Tobacco, alcohol and cannabis, more experienced young The downside is that being constantly connected college students feel less need to go out, sleep less and less (6th grade 9:10 to 8:08 in the third) and insufficient physical activity. We observe that the evenings with friends are less numerous, that the use of internet in the evening reduces sleep 30 to 45 minutes and that "worrying phenomenon," said Emmanuelle Godeau, a researcher at Inserm, less one third of teenagers have a sufficient daily physical activity (the France is the 34th of 40 in this area). As indicated by the AFP, INPES notes that the college years are the years of the first contacts with tobacco, alcohol and cannabis. Their use increases steadily from 6th to 3rd. Thus, a third of 15 year olds has already been drunk, although a high number still one of the lowest of the countries surveyed. Hand tobacco, 8% of students and 16% of fourth grade 3 are regular consumers. Cannabis affecting 2% of 15 year olds. In the third, a quarter of college says this drug have experienced at least once. Finally, Emmanuelle Godeau for this investigation "can finely see what happens between 11 and 15 years, and know when to intervene in terms of prevention." Also for her to intervene "in the sixth when we know that 6 out of 10 children have been drinking alcohol, is useless, it is the primary need to do."
