Holiday in France - September's the Month to Go!
September is one of the very best months to visit France. Not only will you get to enjoy plenty of sunshine and warm weather, but the tourist season is beginning to wind down - which means cheaper travel, lower rates at hotels, and a far greater choice of French holiday rentals offering availability. Fewer crowds and a pleasant climate make ideal conditions for visiting favorite hotspots, whether rural, coastal, or France's many wonderful towns and cities, often stifling in the mid summer heat.

What's more, there are still plenty of events and festivals throughout the country to keep you entertained. With the vast number of wonderful regions to visit in France, it may be difficult to choose, so, for a little extra inspiration, some of the events taking place in September around the country include:

American Film Festival - Normandy 3 - 12 Sep 2010
Once a year, the chic resort of Deauville hosts a festival to rival Cannes, where the year's best American films are previewed. Hollywood stars go down on the settlement to opening their newest movies. The festival is now in its 35th year.

Grande Braveries de Lille - Nord-Pas-de-Calais 4 - 5 Sep 2010
The first weekend each September, Lille is transformed into one gigantic car boot sale, where locals come and sell their unwanted items on the street pavements. The event attracts around two million bargain hunters each year all looking for a little treasure or two.

The 48 hr European Vintage Car Parade - Aube 10 Sep - 12 Sep 2010
This exciting event is now in its 15th year. Approximately 400 vehicle as of crossways Europe congregate in Aube to parade their vintage cars through the department.

Ferial du Ruiz & Course de Satin Horse Race - Boucher-du-Rhone 10 - 12 Sep 2010
Each year, the famous Arles Festival is officially opened by a high-speed Course de Satin horse race, which takes place in the city Arena.

Le Temps drainer La Danes is held in Biarritz each September and is one of Europe’s best dance festivals. For those who wish to spectator rather than participate, there is plenty of dancing to be enjoyed.

Medieval Festival - Vacuous 11 - 12 Sep 2010
This is the 5th Medieval Festival to be held at Les Cares. Come and enjoy the family festivities as Avignon goes back into Middle Ages.

The 9th Randissimo - Loire-Atlantique 11 - 12 Sep 2010
The Randissimo is an annual weekend event, now in its 9th year, which welcomes people of all ages to come and explore the vineyards and local scenery of the Caisson Valley, either on foot or by paddle!
